Call for Special Sessions

Special sessions provide the opportunity to focus in detail on emerging topics that may not be fully reflected in the main technical tracks, and to create a focused forum for discussion of recent advances and breakthrough innovations.

About Special Sessions

Special Sessions (SS) broaden the knowledge base of attendees by providing high-focus technical programs in specialized or emerging areas. Sessions may help create new communities, attract new contributors, and accelerate knowledge dissemination in industrial electronics.

Proposal Content

The special session proposal should include the following information (as indicated in the template):

1) Title of the Special Session
2) Brief description of the area (~100 words) and why it is timely/significant
3) Names & contact info of 2–4 organizers (multi-institution preferred)
4) List of potential authors and affiliations
5) List of potential reviewers and affiliations (minimum 20)

Organization & Policies

Organization of Special Sessions

  • Organizers publicize the session and attract submissions.
  • Papers undergo the same review process as regular papers.
  • Organizers manage the review process and ensure at least three reviews per paper.
  • Once a Special Session (SS) is accepted, the SS organizers will serve as Session Chairs during the conference.

Free Conference Registration

A complimentary full registration will be provided to successful Special Sessions, subject to the conference policy (e.g., sufficient number of accepted papers and compliance conditions).

Conflict of Interest

Before starting the review process, Special Session organizers must explicitly declare any conflicts of interest. Conflicted papers should be handled independently as directed by the Special Session Co-Chairs.

Restrictions

  • The lead organizer must hold a Ph.D. degree.
  • Organizers should be from at least two institutions and preferably from more than one country.
  • Papers authored/co-authored by organizers must not exceed 60% of the session content.
  • An individual should not be (co-)author of more than two papers submitted to the same Special Session.
  • At least one organizer must register and attend the conference to ensure session coordination onsite.
